Iranian Navy Commander Highlights Peace Drills in Karachi as a Global Message for 2025

Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani has emphasized that the peace drills scheduled for 2025 in Karachi will send a strong message to the world. Speaking during a ceremony held at the Iranian Consulate in Karachi to mark the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Irani stated that the region’s significance is highlighted by its geo-economic, geostrategic, and geopolitical importance. He pointed out that more than 60% of global trade passes through this area, further underlining its importance.

Addressing the media, Commander Irani stressed that the upcoming peace drills aim to demonstrate that nations can collaborate in military exercises and ensure the security of international maritime routes. “The message of these exercises is that we can work together and guarantee maritime security,” he said.

The event was attended by several high-profile figures, including the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, the Consul General of Iran in Karachi, Hassan Nourian, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori. During the ceremony, Commander Irani congratulated the Governor and Chief Minister on the successful organization of peace drills and dialogue, praising the efforts of both countries in fostering cooperation and unity.

Governor Kamran Tessori highlighted that the Iranian revolution is a beacon of hope for oppressed people worldwide, paying tribute to its founder, Ayatollah Khomeini. Tessori also appreciated the efforts of Iranian diplomats in facilitating trade and travel between the two countries, noting that this cooperation could significantly boost bilateral relations.

In his speech, Iranian Consul General Hassan Nourian reflected on the importance of the Iranian revolution, which led to the establishment of a system where the government is accountable to the people rather than foreign powers. He also emphasized the strong ties between Iran and Pakistan, pointing out their shared religious, cultural, and geographical bonds.

The ceremony featured a recitation of the Quran by Iranian Qari Pirani and was beautifully decorated with flowers, lights, and rare handcrafted Iranian carpets.
