Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal Predicts Balochistan to Become Pakistan’s Richest Province in 10-12 Years

Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, has forecasted that Balochistan will become Pakistan’s wealthiest province in the next 10 to 12 years. Speaking during his visit to the Pakistan High Commission in London on Tuesday, Iqbal was briefed on the professional affairs of the Pakistani mission in the UK.
During the conversation, Iqbal emphasized that Pakistan has vast mineral reserves, particularly in Balochistan. He mentioned that significant work is underway to extract copper deposits from the region, with Chinese companies showing interest in these reserves. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in investing in Pakistan’s natural resources.
Ahsan Iqbal further stated that the goal is to ensure that raw materials extracted from Balochistan are processed locally, rather than being exported in raw form. He expressed confidence that within the next decade, Balochistan will emerge as the richest province in Pakistan, driven by its abundant natural resources.
