Nushki: Balochistan National Party Condemns 21-Hour Load Shedding and Demands Action
Nushki:The **Balochistan National Party (BNP)** Nushki District has strongly condemned the **21-hour continuous load shedding** being imposed on rural areas of Nushki by **CESCO** (Central Power Distribution Company). The condemnation was issued in a statement from the district secretariat, signed by party leaders including **District President Haji Mir Bahadur Khan Mengal**, **Central Executive Committee member and former MPA Babu Mir Muhammad Rahim Khan Mengal**, **Central Executive Committee member Mir Khurshid Ahmad Jamaldini**, and other key figures such as **Ramzan Baloch**, **Sadiq Ali Jamaldini**, **Haji Munir Ahmad Mengal**, **Inayat Baloch**, **Asad Baloch**, **Advocate Liaqat Ali**, **Jameel Ahmad Mengal**, **Sardar Aziz Ahmad Badini**, **Haji Muhammad Farooq Badini**, **Suleman Khan Rodini**, and **Sahib Khan Mengal**.
The statement criticizes the **silence of so-called public representatives** of Nushki, particularly those elected through **Form 47**, who have failed to raise their voices against the exploitation of the people by CESCO. The leaders accused the **CESCO administration** of mocking the helplessness of the people in the region, as **electricity** is only being provided late at night, in freezing cold weather, between 2:30 AM and 3:00 AM.
The **Balochistan National Party** further highlighted the dire situation faced by the residents, particularly **women** and **children**, who are forced to wake up in the cold to fetch drinking water. The statement also expressed concerns over the hardships faced by **students**, especially those preparing for exams, as the ongoing load shedding has made it nearly impossible for them to study. The party claimed that CESCO’s actions have effectively **taken away the students’ access to education**, as they can no longer study due to the lack of electricity.
Hospitals in the region are also facing significant difficulties due to the constant power outages, with **X-ray machines** and **laboratories** being rendered non-operational. The statement further noted that the **solar-powered tube wells**—which had initially been promised to provide **24-hour electricity**—have also been severely impacted, reducing the availability of electricity in rural areas to just **3 hours** a day. This, the BNP argues, is a blatant injustice to the people of Nushki.
The leaders also condemned the inaction of the **so-called public representatives**, including the **MPA of Nushki** and the **MNA of Rakhshan**, who have remained silent on the issue. According to the BNP, if these representatives were truly concerned about the people, they would have raised their voices and stood with the public, instead of continuing to fulfill the promises made by those responsible for **Form 47**.
The statement concludes with a warning that if the previous **electricity duration** for rural areas is not restored, the **Balochistan National Party** will unite with the people of Nushki to launch a **strong protest** against the power crisis, urging for immediate action.
