Freezing Temperatures in Balochistan Lead to Gas Line Freeze, Disrupting Gas Supply
Quetta: Freezing temperatures in Balochistan have caused the gas pipelines of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to freeze, disrupting the gas supply in Quetta and several other areas of the province.
An SSGC spokesperson stated that the controllers installed on an 18-inch diameter pipeline had frozen due to the icing, resulting in a significant reduction in pressure. The pipeline, which is designed to operate at 130 PSI, is currently functioning at just 20 PSI.
The spokesperson added that SSGC’s technical teams have been working on the issue since 6:00 AM to resolve the problem. Affected areas include parts of Quetta city, Nawan Killi, Pishin, Kuchlak, Bostan, and Ziarat.
