Jinnah House Attack Investigation: Hassan Niazi’s Sister Found Guilty, 8 Workers Cleared of Charges

Lahore: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has declared Hassan Niazi’s sister guilty and cleared 8 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers of involvement in the Jinnah House attack and arson incident.
During the hearing of the case at the Anti-Terrorism Court, presided over by Admin Judge Manzar Ali Gul, the JIT presented its findings. The investigation revealed that eight PTI workers, including women, were innocent. These individuals—Tofseef Khanum, Saadia Ayub, Sarwat Shahid, Nadria Omar, Waheed Ur Rehman, Sajid Prince, Bilal Farhana Farooq—were all exonerated of charges related to the attack.
The JIT also declared Hassan Niazi’s sister, Hajra Niazi, as guilty of involvement in the attack. Furthermore, the investigation found Fathima Haider, Bina Zeeshan, and Rukhshana Naveed to be culpable in the incident.
In response to the JIT’s findings, the defense counsel for the accused requested the withdrawal of the interim bail for their clients. As a result, the court rejected their plea and dismissed the bail applications.
The Anti-Terrorism Court extended the interim bail of Hajra Niazi and other accused individuals until January 15, 2024, and sought further arguments on their bail petitions. During the proceedings, Hajra Niazi’s father, Hafeezullah Niazi, appeared in court alongside his daughter, and other accused, including the women, were also present for the hearing.
It is important to note that the police station Sarwar Road has registered the case against the accused in connection with the Jinnah House attack and related violence.
