KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur Criticizes Political Divisions, Emphasizes Development
Peshawar:Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Gandapur, has expressed concern over the increasing political divisions in the country, stating that the rift between political parties has grown so deep that they are now unwilling to sit together for constructive dialogue. Speaking during a meeting with a representative delegation of the Young Parliamentarians Forum, Gandapur emphasized that while politics is important, the development of the country should be the top priority.
He highlighted that the reason for smaller provinces not achieving their due status was the desire of larger powers to maintain dominance, rather than focusing on equitable governance. Gandapur further lamented that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other smaller provinces were not receiving their fair share of resources from the federal government, especially in the context of combating terrorism and rehabilitating the merged districts (former tribal areas).
The Chief Minister raised the issue of inadequate federal support for the war on terror and the rehabilitation of the merged areas, stating that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was not being provided sufficient financial assistance to address these critical concerns.
The meeting also included a session with the Governor of KP, Faisal Karim Kundi, who expressed his concerns about the insufficient allocation and use of funds for the merged districts. Kundi stated that while some funds had been allocated for the development of these areas, unfortunately, they had not been utilized effectively.
The discussions between the Young Parliamentarians Forum delegation and the provincial leaders reflect growing frustration over the lack of support for the merged districts and smaller provinces in general. Both Gandapur and Kundi’s remarks highlight the urgent need for more balanced resource distribution and the importance of focusing on national development beyond political differences.
