PM Shehbaz Sharif: Wars with India Cost Billions That Should Have Been Spent on People’s Prosperity

London:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan and India have fought **four wars**, costing both nations billions of dollars that should have been used for the development and prosperity of their people.

Speaking at an event hosted by the **Overseas Pakistanis Foundation** in London, he stressed that as neighbors, Pakistan and India must learn to live together. *“We want dialogue with India on the basis of equality, but lasting peace is impossible without resolving the Kashmir issue. The blood of Kashmiris will not be allowed to go in vain,”* he declared.

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to overseas Pakistanis, reciting poetry to honor their contributions. During his four-day stay in London, he met with community leaders and businessmen.

Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said the PM’s *“passionate speech”* in London will be broadcast this afternoon, adding that Shehbaz Sharif discussed **Operation Bunyān Marsūs**, economic reforms, and diplomatic relations.

The Prime Minister is now set to depart for the **United States**, where he will address the **UN General Assembly** and participate in a special session on Gaza. He will also present Pakistan’s stance on **Kashmir, Palestine, and the recent attack on Qatar**.
