Power Supply from Iran Suspended for Hours, Affecting Gwadar and Makran Regions
Panjgur:The electricity supply from Iran to the Makran region, including Panjgur, has been suspended for several hours, causing widespread disruptions in daily life. As a result, power outages have affected not only Panjgur but also other areas in Makran such as Turbat and Gwadar.
The long duration of the power breakdown has severely impacted the daily activities of residents, leading to a shortage of water in the region. Although the Panjgur Grid Station is connected to the national grid, it lacks the necessary heavy transformers required to supply electricity to Panjgur and the surrounding areas when power from Iran is disrupted.
Locals have appealed to the government and the Member of National Assembly (MNA) to take urgent action and install the required heavy transformers at the Panjgur Grid Station. This, they believe, would ensure that the area can be connected to the national grid in the event of a suspension in power supply from Iran, helping to prevent further hardships for the residents of the region.
