AJK Government Withdraws Presidential Ordinance, Protest Ends

Muzaffarabad:The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has withdrawn the controversial presidential ordinance following widespread protests. The decision came after the Public Action Committee (PAC) had led protests across AJK for four consecutive days against the ordinance. Road blockages and sit-ins were held at all major entry points to the region.

After negotiations, the President instructed the Prime Minister to take action to withdraw the ordinance. In response, the AJK government issued an official notification retracting the ordinance. Following the announcement, the Public Action Committee called off the strike, urging transporters to resume operations. They also stated that a Charter of Demands, consisting of 12 key points, would be implemented within the next 90 days.
