Omar Ayub Files Contempt of Court Petition Against Police Officials Over Arrest
Peshawar: Former federal minister Omar Ayub has filed a contempt of court petition in the Peshawar High Court against top police officials over his arrest despite court orders. The petition names IG Punjab Usman Anwar, DPO Rawalpindi, SP Saddar Rawalpindi, and DPO Attock as respondents.
In his petition, Omar Ayub claimed that the Peshawar High Court had granted him protective bail, yet Rawalpindi police arrested him and unlawfully detained him. He argued that this action violated the court’s orders, leading to contempt of court by the Rawalpindi police.
Ayub has requested the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against IG Punjab, DPO Rawalpindi, DPO Attock, and SP Saddar Rawalpindi for their actions.
