Security Forces’ Operations in Bannu and Khyber: 8 Militants Killed, Captain and Soldier Martyred
Islamabad: In two separate operations carried out by security forces in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from November 29 to December 1, eight militants (referred to as ‘Khawarij’) were killed, while two soldiers, including a captain, embraced martyrdom.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation was based on intelligence and took place in Bannu’s Baka Khel area, where security forces targeted a militant hideout following reports of the militants’ presence. During the operation, five militants were killed and nine others were injured. However, 29-year-old Sepoy Iftikhar Hussain, from Jhang district, laid down his life in the line of duty while fighting bravely.
The second operation took place in the Shagai area of Khyber district, where three militants were killed, and two were arrested. During this operation, intense firefights ensued, and Captain Mohammad Zohaibuddin, a 25-year-old officer from Lahore, led his team with courage and sacrificed his life for the nation.
These militants were involved in several terrorist activities, targeting security forces and innocent civilians. ISPR stated that clearance operations are ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining militants. Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism from the country, and the sacrifices of these brave soldiers further strengthen this resolve.
