“Bashir Bibi Decides to Leave Protest Due to Tear Gas, Claims Prominent Journalist”
Islamabad: Prominent journalist Azaz Syed has made a surprising claim that Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, decided to leave the D-Chowk protest because she was fed up with the tear gas shelling. According to Syed, Bushra Bibi’s decision to return to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa effectively ended the protest in Islamabad.
This claim is startling because just hours before, on Tuesday, Bushra Bibi had declared that she would not leave D-Chowk “until her last breath,” and had even sworn an oath with party workers to remain at the site. However, according to Azaz Syed, the original plan was that Bushra Bibi would stay inside a protected container, shielded from police and Rangers’ shelling, and would lead the protesters from there in comfort.
The journalist explained that the situation changed when the container housing PTI leaders was set on fire, which led to Bushra Bibi deciding to leave the protest. The fire reportedly occurred after PTI workers, who had been inside the container, moved to join a convoy led by Ali Amin Gandapur, roughly 100 yards away. During this time, the container remained unguarded for about an hour, after which it was set on fire by unknown individuals.
Before the container was set ablaze, Bushra Bibi had already left the container and entered a vehicle. These events were captured on camera. It remains unclear who instructed Bushra Bibi to leave the container and why it was left without security.
According to reports, the tear gas shelling began between 8:30 and 9:00 PM, and around the same time, Bushra Bibi was seen leaving the container and getting into a smaller vehicle. Later, footage from a CCTV camera in Sector G-8 of Islamabad surfaced, showing Bushra Bibi exiting the small car and entering a Land Cruiser belonging to Ali Amin Gandapur, around 11:00 PM.
This revelation has sparked widespread discussions about the leadership dynamics during the PTI protest and the safety measures taken by those involved.
