If My Farmhouse Falls Under Encroachments, Demolish It Too; No Need to Seek Anyone’s Permission: Faisal Karim Kundi

PESHAWAR (Daily Qudrat): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has said that if his farmhouse also falls under encroachments, the relevant authorities have full permission to demolish it; there is no need to seek anyone’s permission for this.

Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Faisal Karim Kundi said that all friends and relevant individuals should visit Dera Ismail Khan (D.I. Khan) and review the ongoing development work and the operations against encroachments there.

He said that a board was installed on the highway near his farmhouse, and a road expansion project is underway there. If this board was falling under encroachments for the road expansion, the administration has removed it, which he welcomes.

The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that if his farmhouse is also among the encroachments and is becoming an obstacle to road expansion or other government projects, the authorities can demolish it without hesitation as well.

He made clear that he is giving permission to the relevant authorities today for this purpose. Faisal Karim Kundi further said that there should be no discrimination of any kind in the operation against encroachments, and the law should apply equally to everyone.

On a question regarding the operation against encroachments, the Governor said that no one will be made a target of political revenge, nor will action be taken against anyone’s property according to one’s own wishes.

He has given Deputy Commissioners full authority to remove encroachments in accordance with the law; however, if any officer shows favour to anyone, the responsibility will rest with that officer.

He said that Ata-ur-Rehman has also met the Chief Secretary regarding the Mufti Mahmood Complex matter. If encroachments are legally proven there, action will be taken; however, action cannot be taken merely by declaring a place an encroachment on social media. Faisal Karim Kundi said that the district administration and relevant departments will take action only after formal verification. He said that he feels the people’s difficulties, and that is why he has come to Peshawar.
