External Armed Gangs Being Brought In and Settled in Qila Abdullah; Law and Order Destroyed and the Scourge of Drugs Has Spread; If Demands Are Not Accepted, the Scope of Protest Will Be Further Expanded: President District Bar Association

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta): President of Qila Abdullah Bar Association Hameedullah Kakar Advocate, addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club along with other lawyers’ leaders, expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, terrorism and the scourge of drugs in Qila Abdullah district.

Speaking at the press conference, Hameedullah Kakar Advocate said that Qila Abdullah is an important district of the province in terms of population and area; however, successive incidents of terrorism and instability have severely paralysed public life. He alleged that armed individuals are being brought in from outside and settled in various areas of the district in an organised manner, due to which incidents of firing, killings and kidnapping for ransom are occurring daily.

He said that a few days ago armed men attacked a village and martyred innocent citizens, after which the families of the martyrs have been sitting on a sit-in for the past six days, placing the bodies of their loved ones on the road for their justice.

The lawyers’ leaders strongly demanded that the authorities immediately end the instability in Qila Abdullah, expel the brought-in non-local armed individuals from the area at once and curb the scourge of drug cultivation and trade without discrimination. They made clear that all their demands are fully constitutional and legal, and they want to see pens and books rather than weapons in their children’s hands. They warned that if the demands are not accepted immediately, the scope of the sit-in and protest will be expanded to the entire province.
