Users of Cooking Oil and Ghee From Well-Known Brands Should Be Careful!
KARACHI (Daily Qudrat): An illegal factory making fake cooking oil and ghee set up inside a residential house has been caught, where fake cooking oil and ghee were being produced under the names of well-known brands.
According to details, the Sindh Food Authority and Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan Police, acting on a tip-off, carried out a joint operation in Shadman Town, caught an illegal factory making fake cooking oil and ghee set up inside a residential house and sealed it on the spot.
According to Sindh Food Authority and police officials, the house was closed at the time of the operation, which was opened and all the illegal goods inside were taken into custody.
Tins of fake cooking oil and ghee prepared under the names of well-known brands such as “Soya Supreme,” “Dalda” and “Habib” were recovered from the factory.
The spokesman said that heavy machines for filling and packaging oil and ghee were installed inside the residential house. Open substandard oil, empty bottles, cartons, branded labels, sealing machines and other packaging material were taken into possession from the site.
According to the investigation, substandard open oil and ghee were filled into fake packaging of famous brands and supplied to various shops in the city. The factory was operated during the day, while it was kept closed at night.
The Sindh Food Authority and police have completely sealed the illegal factory and begun legal action.
Police officials say that a detailed investigation is being conducted to identify all the facts regarding since when this illegal work had been going on in the residential area, who was running it and who all are part of its supply network.
