ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat): The retirement of Portuguese star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has broken actress Mawra Hussain’s heart.
Actress Mawra Hussain and Aamir Gilani, along with millions of football fans around the world, bade farewell to the legendary player after the news of Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement from international football.
The couple, known to be sports enthusiasts, expressed their fondness for the Portuguese superstar through their Instagram stories and recalled the legacy established during his brilliant career.
Sharing the video carrying Ronaldo’s retirement announcement, Mawra wrote an emotional message and admitted that she was not prepared for the thought of not being able to see this football icon represent his country anymore.
She wrote: “My heart has shattered into pieces… I always knew this day would make me cry. I knew this day would come, but still I don’t think I am ready for it.”
The actress, praising Ronaldo’s extraordinary impact on football, further said: “There will be no one like you… never… you were magic.”
Mawra Hussain further said that we are very fortunate that we got the chance to live in your era and we watched you play from your early days until now; for most of us, you are ‘football’ and always will be.
The actress’s husband and actor Aamir Gilani also paid a heart-touching tribute.
