Allowance of 250 Percent of Basic Salary for Employees! Government’s Major Announcement

PESHAWAR (Daily Qudrat): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the “Extraordinary Security Risk Allowance,” under which an allowance of 250 percent of basic salary will be given.

According to details, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, taking an important step for civil and police officers deployed in districts affected by terrorism and instability, has approved the “Extraordinary Security Risk Allowance,” and its formal notification has also been issued.

The notification said that officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service and Police Service of Pakistan performing duty in the affected districts will be given an allowance of 250 percent of their running basic salary.

The Home Department will identify the districts eligible for the allowance, and its list will be prepared at the beginning of every financial year.

In case of an officer’s transfer, suspension, leave or OSD (OSD) posting, this allowance will not be provided.

Clarifying the financial matters of the allowance in the government notification, it was said that the entire expenditure of this allowance will be borne by the federal government and this amount will be subject to income tax.

Until the federal government’s payments are delayed, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will temporarily bear these expenses itself; however, this temporary financing will not impose any permanent financial liability on the province.

The provincial government has also directed the Finance Department to establish a special system for monitoring expenditures and federal receipts.
