Pakistan May Play a Role in Iran-US Relations: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has hinted at the possibility of Islamabad playing a role in improving relations between Iran and the United States.

Speaking on Geo News program *Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath*, the minister said that while the US has not made any demands from Pakistan at present, any future requests would be assessed in light of Pakistan’s national interests.

He recalled that former US President Donald Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize after mediating a ceasefire during the Pakistan-India conflict.

Commenting on India, Khawaja Asif said that if New Delhi refuses dialogue, Pakistan sees no reason to insist on talks.
