Mizai Adda: Demands of Martyrs’ Families and Sit-In Participants Should Be Accepted Immediately, Haider Khan Kakar Should Be Recovered Safely: Pashtunkhwa NAP

MIZAI ADDA (Daily Qudrat): Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) central information secretary Muhammad Isa Roshan, provincial president Nasrullah Khan Zirey and central secretary Haji Azam Khan Masezai have said that the demands of the families of the martyrs of Kali Tang Masezai in Qila Abdullah district and the thousands of participants of the sit-in should be accepted immediately, Haider Khan Kakar should be recovered safely, armed gangs and terrorists should be eliminated from the area and the cultivation of narcotics and opium should be completely curbed.

They expressed these views while addressing the sit-in of the families of the martyrs of Kali Tang Masezai at Mizai Adda. The sit-in was attended by PkNAP provincial deputy secretary Malik Obaidullah Masezai, Sulaiman Khan Bazi, central committee member Zakaria Khan Abdul Rehmanzai, Ramzan Khan Masezai, leaders of various political parties and thousands of people.

They said that the continuous incidents of terrorism in Pashtun areas are extremely worrying. From the incidents of the past few months in Southern Pashtunkhwa, it has become clear that the Pashtunkhwa homeland is being pushed into the fire of terrorism under a deliberate plan. Serious questions are also arising regarding state patronage behind these circumstances.

They said that a conspiracy is being hatched to seize the precious mineral resources present in various areas of the Pashtunkhwa homeland, especially Southern Pashtunkhwa, and to displace the Pashtun people from their land. In the past, such measures were also taken in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the former FATA, as a result of which the Pashtun people had to face severe difficulties.

They said that it is incomprehensible that a nuclear country, which has millions of soldiers, modern technology and powerful intelligence agencies, still has terrorists openly roaming in various areas of Qila Abdullah, Kali Tang Masezai, Harnai Ork, Ziarat, Shahrag, Harnai, Shaban and Zarghun Ghar, among other areas. Whatever organisation the terrorists belong to, their elimination and the protection of people’s lives and property is the state’s foremost responsibility.

They said that if the state fails to protect the people, such rulers have no right to govern even for a single day. The country’s economy is being run by the rivers, forests, minerals and other precious resources of the Pashtunkhwa homeland, but unfortunately the Pashtun people, the real owners of these resources, are being kept deprived of peace, security and basic civic rights in their own homeland.

They further said that today the Pashtunkhwa homeland is afflicted by serious problems such as terrorism, killings, street crimes, robbery and theft. In these circumstances, effective measures must be taken to protect the people and establish law and order, keeping in view local conditions and public needs. In this connection, the speakers also expressed concern over the decision to merge the Levies Force into the police and demanded that this decision be withdrawn and the Levies Force be immediately restored to its former status. They said that the Levies Force is well aware of the customs and traditions, geographical conditions and tribal and social structure of local areas, therefore its restoration is important for establishing law and order and protecting the people.

They said that to confront these serious circumstances, all political parties, national leaders and the people must unite and organise to form a national front, so that a joint and effective struggle can be waged against terrorism, instability and anti-people measures.

They said that if the government does not accept the demands of the martyrs’ families, the PkNAP has proposed to the sit-in committee that the sit-in be shifted to Quetta, so that the people of all areas of Southern Pashtunkhwa can participate fully in it and a joint voice can be raised for the acceptance of the demands.

They said that just as in the past, after the Ziarat tragedy and the Harnai Ork tragedy, all political parties waged a joint struggle, similarly now too a full struggle must be waged with unity and consensus for national rights, law and order and the protection of the people.

PkNAP provincial deputy secretary Malik Obaidullah Masezai, the district’s senior assistant secretary Ramzan Khan and other party leaders and workers were also present at the sit-in.
