Asghar Khan Achakzai’s Detention Is the Worst Example of Political Revenge and Injustice; ANP Announces All Parties Conference on 6 November
Keeping Him Detained Despite the Complainant's Clear Denial Is Proof of Malice; We Will Resist Together With All Political Parties and Lawyers: Jamaluddin Rashia

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta): Central and provincial leaders of the Awami National Party (ANP), addressing a press conference, strongly condemned the detention of ANP provincial president Asghar Khan Achakzai for the past two weeks in a fabricated and fake case.
Addressing the press conference, ANP leader Jamaluddin Rashia and other leaders said that they are grateful to all political parties, lawyers and civil society for expressing concern over Asghar Khan Achakzai’s detention. They revealed that the complainant in the case on the basis of which Asghar Khan is being held has himself clearly denied any involvement of Asghar Khan in the case.
Jamaluddin Rashia said that the ANP has complete faith in the supremacy of the courts and the Constitution; however, concern regarding Asghar Khan’s case is growing day by day because in the present situation the requirements of merit and justice do not appear to be met.
He announced that in view of this injustice and the overall political situation, an All Parties Conference (APC) is being held on 6 November, to which all political parties, the lawyers’ community and the traders’ association will be formally invited. A final decision on the future joint course of action will be taken at this conference. The leaders made clear that the ANP believes in Bacha Khan’s philosophy of non-violence and will continue its peaceful constitutional struggle for its rights.
