Imran Khan’s Sisters Were a Trusted Channel, That Is Why They Have Been Detained, Claims Ahad Khan

LAHORE: Ahad Khan, brother-in-law of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has claimed that Imran Khan’s three sisters are allegedly being kept in custody because they served as a trusted channel for conveying his views and messages from prison to the public.

Speaking to the media in Lahore, Ahad Khan said Imran Khan’s sisters were a reliable source of communication, as they would meet him in prison and share his messages with the public after their visits.

He said he was trying to understand why all three sisters had been detained, adding that they had been conveying Imran Khan’s position to the outside world after meeting him in prison. According to him, that channel of communication had now been cut off.

Commenting on speculation surrounding the proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment, Ahad Khan expressed concern that someone could be sent to prison to create the impression that Imran Khan had agreed to support the amendment.

He said there were fears that a message could be circulated claiming that Imran Khan had accepted certain conditions in exchange for his release. However, he insisted that Imran Khan was not demanding release but wanted all cases against him to proceed through the legal process and reach their conclusion.

Ahad Khan said it was possible for someone to be sent to jail and later made to claim that Imran Khan had agreed to a particular proposal. He added that they would not accept any such message or claim, stressing that the only credible communication would be a message conveyed through Imran Khan’s sisters.

He further stated that he had no affiliation with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and considered himself only a citizen of Pakistan.

Ahad Khan said public confidence had already been affected and questioned why doubts were being raised about people close to Imran Khan when his sisters had served as a trusted source for communicating his views from inside prison.
