PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Issues Notification Retaining Sohail Afridi as Chief Minister
ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has issued a notification retaining Sohail Afridi as Chief Minister. He said that Sohail Afridi has the support and confidence of PTI founder Imran Khan, therefore he will continue to remain in the position of Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on behalf of PTI.
The text of the notification issued on X said that in view of the current situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for the purpose of clarification and emphasis, this notification is being issued for the information and compliance of all concerned that Sohail Afridi will remain Chief Minister. Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has the support and confidence of Imran Khan, the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Therefore, he is PTI’s Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will continue to remain in the same position.

According to the notification, no meeting will be held on the nomination or change of the Chief Minister. All members, office-bearers, parliamentarians and party officials of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf are directed that they should neither convene nor participate in any meeting, nor present any agenda, nor present any proposal, nor consider any proposal, nor encourage or participate in any such discussion regarding considering any nomination, change or alternative candidate for the position of Chief Minister.
The notification further said that the final authority for the nomination of the Chief Minister rests only with Imran Khan, and it is clearly reiterated that no person other than founding chairman Imran Khan has the authority to nominate any alternative candidate or to change this decision in any way.
Imran Khan’s decisions in this regard will be final and all party members will be bound by them.
In his statement regarding the notification, Barrister Gohar Khan said that all members of the provincial assembly belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are a matter of pride for us. They upheld loyalty to Khan Sahib, remained steadfast and responded to his every decision.
However, in view of unnecessary speculation and various discussions regarding the Chief Minister on social media and some TV channels, this notification is being issued for further clarification and for the satisfaction of party workers and supporters — that in our party, decisions are made only in accordance with Imran Khan’s instructions, and God willing, in the future too, his instructions and decisions will remain final and paramount.
It may be recalled that yesterday, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, speaking to the media outside Parliament House, had said that as far as Sohail Afridi is concerned, wherever he is, he should be brought; Sohail Afridi is the Chief Minister today, he was the Chief Minister yesterday, and he will remain our Chief Minister in the future as well.
If anyone has any doubt, they should remove it from their minds; if needed, I will also issue a notification in this regard from the party platform in my capacity as PTI Chairman.
