Manzoor Wassan Sees Difficult Days Ahead for Imran Khan Amid Current Political Situation

KARACHI:Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Manzoor Wassan has predicted that he does not see good days ahead for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan amid the current political situation.
Speaking during a meeting with party leaders and other individuals, Wassan said he had not expected Imran Khan and his party to announce their support for the creation of new provinces so soon.
He said Sindh had its own history and identity and could not be viewed in the same context as other provinces. According to Wassan, the people of Sindh and the Sindh Assembly had already rejected proposals for creating new provinces in the province.
He added that changing the names of provinces would not be beneficial for the country.
Commenting on the possibility of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the former minister said that although the provincial governor belonged to the PPP, the decision to impose governor’s rule had been taken by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Wassan also said he did not foresee a protest movement by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI). He argued that if the party had intended to launch a protest, it would have done so by now.
