Islamabad Model Jail Project Completed — Will Imran Khan Also Be Shifted to the Model Jail? Journalist’s Question

ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the model jail has been built to international standards, and all prisoners of Islamabad courts will be shifted to this model jail, with monitoring of the jail kept very strict. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, visited the Islamabad Model Jail. Speaking to the media on the occasion, he said that work on this project began in 2009 and construction started in 2016; when we came here in 2024, it was about 40 percent complete, after which the CDA began work, and as soon as the government took charge, special interest was taken in the jail’s construction.

I will give credit for this project to Talal Chaudhry and the CDA; Talal Chaudhry looked at every single thing and kept visiting.

Now this project is ready, and the Prime Minister will formally inaugurate it. After that, prisoners will be shifted into it. The standards of this project are world-class; a jail of international standard has been built. When a prisoner comes to the jail, everything from meetings onward is of international standard.

All prisoners of Islamabad courts will be shifted to this model jail, and monitoring of the jail will be kept very strict. All of Islamabad’s prisoners should be shifted to this jail; there is currently capacity for 1,500 prisoners, and after that, in the second phase, three to four thousand more prisoners will come.
