Aamir Khan Turns Emotional While Revealing His Biggest Regret in Life

MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan became emotional and broke down in tears while reflecting on one of the biggest regrets of his life during an appearance at the Singapore International Film Festival.
The 61-year-old actor revealed that his most difficult realisation was not related to the failure of any film, but to the precious time he had missed with his children and loved ones because of his intense commitment to work.
Khan received the Screen Icon Award at the festival from Hong Kong filmmaker Peter Chan Ho-sun. During the event, he was asked about the most challenging period of his career and life.
Responding to the question, the Dangal star recalled that the COVID-19 lockdown gave him an opportunity to reflect on his life and recognise that nearly 30 years had passed while he remained deeply absorbed in his work.
Khan said that dedicating one or two years, or even five years, to work with extraordinary intensity was understandable. However, he explained that maintaining such a lifestyle for three decades could come at a significant personal cost.
He said people could gradually lose touch with their relationships, while their children grew up and reached adulthood, leaving parents to realise that they had not spent enough time with them.
As he described this painful realisation, Khan paused and struggled to contain his emotions before becoming tearful.
The audience responded with applause to encourage the actor, who apologised to those present for his emotional moment.
Khan’s candid remarks highlighted the personal sacrifices that can accompany a demanding career and the importance of balancing professional ambitions with family relationships and time spent with loved ones.
