Attempts Underway to Remove Imran Khan, Sohail Afridi and Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Says Raja Nasir Abbas

ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Raja Nasir Abbas has alleged that efforts are being made to sideline PTI founder Imran Khan, suspended Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai.

Speaking to Geo News, Raja Nasir Abbas said the ruling leadership was currently acting with a sense of triumph following recent political developments.

He claimed that Rana Sanaullah and federal ministers had met with them and assured them that the prime minister would write a letter regarding the matter. According to Abbas, the ministers had also said that the opposition leader would decide the venue rather than the prime minister.

However, he alleged that the government representatives had subsequently gone back on their word.

“First, there were efforts to sideline PTI founder Imran Khan, then Sohail Afridi, and now Mahmood Khan Achakzai,” Abbas said.

He strongly rejected any move to sideline Imran Khan, declaring that they would not allow the PTI founder to be politically eliminated.

The opposition leader’s remarks come amid heightened political tensions between the government and opposition following developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the ongoing dispute over the political future of PTI leadership.
