Students Should Focus Fully on Education While Also Playing an Active Role in the Pashtun National Political Struggle: Nasrullah Khan Zira

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) Provincial President Nasrullah Khan Zira has said that young people, especially students, should focus fully on their educational activities while also actively participating in the Pashtun national political struggle, because the youth are the precious asset of any nation and the architects of a bright future. Only through knowledge, awareness, unity, and an organized national political struggle can the challenges facing the Pashtun nation be confronted and the struggle for national rights be advanced.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony organized by the regional organization of Pashtunkhwa Students Organization (PSO) at Quetta University to welcome newly admitted students and honor graduating students. The ceremony was presided over by PSO Regional Secretary Amin Nangyal. On this occasion, PSO Provincial Secretary Waris Afghan, PkNAP Central Secretary Allah Noor Khan Chairman, Provincial Secretary First Faqir Khushhal Kasi, University Academic Staff Association President Professor Dr. Kalimullah Khan Badech, Zohaib Khan Kabzai, and newly admitted student representative Zainullah Khan also addressed the gathering, while Khairullah Loni and Pamir Khan served as moderators.

The speakers congratulated the newly admitted students and said that in an era when millions of children are deprived of basic education, gaining access to a university is a privilege; therefore, students should realize the sacrifices of their parents and make the pursuit of knowledge their first priority. Nasrullah Khan Zira emphasized that students’ responsibilities should not remain limited to textbooks and degrees alone; they must also study their historical, political, and cultural circumstances deeply and play a role in protecting their mother tongue and national rights.

During the ceremony, strong condemnation was expressed over the Quetta University administration’s imposition of restrictions on student programs and obstruction of activities, and a demand was made that a conducive environment be ensured in universities for intellectual training, literary and cultural debates, and democratic gatherings. The leaders expressed deep concern over the hybrid system in the country, instability, the imposition of governor’s rule and emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the establishment of a separate administrative structure for 12 districts, terming it an attack on constitutional and public rights.

The speakers urged students to seek guidance from the enduring struggle and ideology of teacher Abdul Rahim Khan Mandokhail and Usman Khan Kakar, and said that the bright future of the Pashtun nation is linked to unity, solidarity, and a conscious democratic struggle. At the end of the ceremony, a feast was arranged for the graduating and new students, followed by an artistic music program.
