Emergency and Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Is a Blatant Violation of the Constitution and Democracy; Protest Demonstrations Will Be Held Across the Province on October 14: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — In a press release issued from the provincial secretariat of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, the unconstitutional and illegal measures taken to stop constitutional, political, and democratic protest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been declared a blatant violation of the country’s Constitution, democratic principles, and the traditions of the Federation of Pakistan, and have been condemned in the strongest possible terms.
In the statement, it was announced that on the call for protest given by the party’s beloved chairman, head of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai, full-scale protest demonstrations will be held in all districts of the province on October 14. In this connection, an important meeting of the allied parties included in the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, October 13, in which preparations for the October 14 protest demonstrations and the future course of action will be finalized.
In the statement of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, it was demanded that emergency and governor’s rule be immediately ended in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a legal government be restored in the province. It was warned that the consequences of continuing tactics of repression and coercion will be extremely disastrous, and full responsibility for it will rest on the government.
The statement further said that national affairs are being used to serve the personal financial interests of individuals and to prolong unconstitutional power. The country’s constitutional structure, the independence of the judiciary, and the importance of the media have been trampled upon, and the Constitution has been completely disrespected, which has put the country’s standing and dignity before the world at stake.
The press release emphasized that just as election results were changed through coercion and terror in the February 8, 2024 elections, and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa proved their political significance even without a symbol, the unconstitutional measures taken today to snatch their historic victory and public mandate have spread the worst chaos and unrest in the country. Inflation, unemployment, and poverty are at their peak, institutions have been paralyzed, and unelected representatives of Form 47 are engaged in corruption. At the end of the statement, it was said that it is the responsibility of democratic individuals and political parties belonging to every walk of life in the country to raise a full-throated voice against the imposed clique and those who brought them.
