PTI Leader Sheikh Waqas Akram Vows Protest Will Go Ahead, IG Islamabad Warns of Strict Action

Islamabad:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram has reaffirmed that the party’s planned protest in Islamabad on November 24 will take place as scheduled, asserting that all necessary preparations have been made. Speaking in a private TV interview, Sheikh Waqas emphasized that the protest would go ahead “under all circumstances,” and that PTI would not back down until its demands are met.

“Our protest will happen no matter what,” said Sheikh Waqas Akram. “People from across the country will come to Islamabad to participate in this protest, and we will not leave until our demands are addressed.”

Regarding ongoing talks with the government, Sheikh Waqas clarified that PTI’s engagement in discussions had not evolved into formal negotiations. “Our engagements have not turned into negotiations. The protest is our primary agenda, and we are fully prepared for it,” he added.

The statement comes in the wake of heightened security and preparations by law enforcement agencies to manage the protest. Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi, has announced that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to take the law into their own hands during the protest.

IG Rizvi also reminded the public that Section 144, which bans gatherings, protests, and rallies in Islamabad, remains in place, and violators will face severe legal consequences. “There will be strict action against anyone violating the ban under Section 144. Those who break the law will be charged under serious legal provisions,” he warned.

As the protest approaches, tensions remain high in the capital, with both PTI leadership and law enforcement preparing for potential disruptions. The outcome of the protest and its impact on the political landscape will depend on the response from both the authorities and the protesters.
