Sohail Afridi Vows to Sacrifice His Life for Imran Khan and Pashtuns, Rejects Governor’s Rule Threats

PESHAWAR:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has strongly rejected threats of governor’s rule in the province, declaring that the struggle has moved beyond political office and power.

Addressing participants in the PTI long march before its departure from Charsadda on the seventh day of the procession, Afridi said he was prepared to sacrifice not only his position but also his life for PTI founder Imran Khan and the Pashtun people.

“Those threatening governor’s rule should listen: the matter has now gone beyond positions and power,” Afridi said, adding that no amount of wealth could buy him.

He praised the people of Charsadda for their enthusiasm and determination, saying the PTI would continue its struggle against what he described as an oppressive system.

Afridi announced that supporters from across Pakistan would begin travelling towards Swabi on October 11. He said the party would announce its future course of action at Swabi on October 13.

### Afridi Calls for Peaceful Political Struggle

The chief minister said the political struggle would continue peacefully and within the framework of the Constitution and law.

He urged those challenging the honour and dignity of the Pashtun people to study their history, while insisting that the PTI would not compromise on the rights of its supporters.

Afridi also alleged that the peace achieved in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after the loss of 80,000 lives was being undermined by decisions taken behind closed doors.

He accused those responsible for the province’s current difficulties of imposing what he described as self-created terrorism for personal interests. These allegations were not independently verified.

Calling on party workers and supporters to remain steadfast, Afridi said people should not fear threats and should keep their focus on their political objectives.

He reiterated that the PTI would not accept what he called an oppressive system or policies directed against the people of the province.

His remarks come amid heightened tensions between the federal government and the PTI-led provincial administration over security, political protests and the possibility of imposing an emergency or governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
