Islamabad Police Chief Assures Zero Tolerance on Security, Warns Against Unlawful Protests
Islamabad:The Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has stated that there will be no compromise on the security of Islamabad. Speaking to a private news channel, he emphasized that under Section 144, all forms of protests, rallies, or gatherings are banned in the capital, and violators will face strict legal action.
The IG urged citizens to refrain from participating in any form of civil unrest or unlawful activities, warning that the law would take its course against any illegal actions. He reassured the public that security measures in the city were implemented to safeguard the lives and property of the people, and those who take the law into their own hands would be charged under severe legal provisions.
Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, visited various duty points across the district. According to the Islamabad Police spokesperson, the DIG reiterated that the protection of public life and property was the police’s top priority, and no one would be allowed to take the law into their hands.
DIG Raza also stressed that legal action would be taken against anyone violating the law, and expressed hope that the citizens would cooperate fully with the police to maintain peace and order.
It is also noteworthy that Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, has previously clarified that the government is bound by the Islamabad High Court’s order, which prohibits any processions, sit-ins, or rallies in the capital.
