Systematic Ideological Onslaught to Weaken Islamic Values and Family System Continues; Young Generation in the Grip of Challenges: Maulana Abdul Wasi

Teachers Should Not Consider Teaching a Mere Job; Nations Are Built Not Merely by Buildings and Projects but by Preparing Generations of Character: Address

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta): Provincial Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan, Senator Maulana Abdul Wasi, has said that today various intellectual and ideological trends are active to weaken Islamic ideology, religious values, cultural traditions, and the family system. In such a tumultuous era, a heavy responsibility falls on scholars, teachers, parents, and especially women to pay special attention to the religious, moral, intellectual, and educational training of the new generation. It is an important need of the time to acquaint the young generation with the sacrifices of their forefathers, Islamic history, the national struggle, and constitutional awareness.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at Muslim Bagh Girls College in connection with Teachers’ Day. Senator Maulana Abdul Wasi said that on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, we first of all pay tribute to the Seal of the Prophets, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), whom Allah Almighty sent as a teacher for the education and training of humanity. Through knowledge, morals, character, justice, tolerance, and service to humanity, he prepared such a generation that changed the course of world history. Therefore, the best model for a teacher is the style of education and training of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself.

He said that a teacher is not merely one who reads out a book but is the architect of the nation’s future and the trainer of the character of generations. A good teacher not only gives his student academic knowledge but also creates within him awareness of honesty, discipline, a sense of responsibility, tolerance, research, morality, and playing a positive role for society. Today, when the young generation faces modern technology, social media, and various intellectual and cultural challenges, the responsibility of teachers has increased far more than before. Educational institutions must be made centers for creating, along with knowledge, character, morality, religious awareness, research, and a sense of national responsibility.

Senator Maulana Abdul Wasi said that Islam has granted women honor, education, and a fundamental role in the construction of society. In today’s tumultuous era, the role of an educated, virtuous, and capable mother holds fundamental importance in the protection of Islamic values, modesty, veil, and the family system. An educated mother not only raises her children but strengthens the intellectual, moral, and training foundation of the entire family. Therefore, women’s education is in reality not merely the education of one individual but the education and training of coming generations.

He said that a woman can be an excellent teacher, doctor, engineer, researcher, administrator, and an effective member of society. The need is to provide women with quality education, research, and appropriate opportunities to express their abilities in a dignified environment. Educated and virtuous women can play a fundamental role in forming a strong family, an aware society, and a developed nation. A mother’s lap is the first school, and an educated mother has the ability to shape the future of the entire society along with the future of her children.

He urged teachers to consider their position not merely a job but a national, moral, and religious responsibility. A book provides knowledge, but a teacher molds that knowledge into character and action. If from our educational institutions, along with knowledge, the spirit of character, morality, religious awareness, research, tolerance, patriotism, and service to humanity is produced, then these very young people can become the guarantee of a bright future for the country and the nation.

Senator Maulana Abdul Wasi, paying tribute to teachers across the country on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, said that nations do not become great merely through resources, buildings, and development projects; rather, they progress by preparing generations adorned with knowledge, character, awareness, and excellent training, and in this great national duty, the role of the teacher holds a fundamental and decisive position.
