Imam of Masjid an-Nabawi Condemns Reported Drone Attack on Madinah

Madinah: Imam and Khatib of Masjid an-Nabawi, Sheikh Saleh Al-Maghamsi, has strongly condemned the reported drone attack on Madinah, saying that targeting the holy city amounts to hurting the sentiments of Muslims around the world.
Sheikh Saleh Al-Maghamsi said Madinah is the city of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and holds immense sanctity for Muslims. He stressed that the sanctity of Makkah and Madinah is deeply rooted in the hearts of Muslims worldwide.
He said protecting the holy sites is the responsibility of Saudi Arabia and called on Muslims to remain united regarding the sanctity and security of the sacred places.
According to the report, Houthi forces targeted the Taybah power distribution station in Madinah with a drone. The station supplies electricity to the area, including Masjid an-Nabawi.
Coalition forces said the attack caused one transformer to shut down, but did not affect the overall electricity system.
The reported attack has drawn condemnation because of the location of the targeted facility and its proximity to one of Islam’s holiest cities.
