Balochistan’s First Mass Transit Train, Jinnah People’s Train, Ready to Serve Public

QUETTA: Balochistan’s first mass transit train, the Jinnah People’s Train, is ready to provide transportation facilities to the public following the completion of the upgrade of its 32-kilometre railway track.
The 32-kilometre track upgrade project for the Jinnah People’s Train was completed in just 120 days at a cost of Rs3 billion.
The route from Kuchlak to Sariab includes seven stations: Kuchlak, Bileli, Sheikh Manda, GOR, Quetta, Loral Karez and Sariab.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti expressed satisfaction over the completion of the Jinnah People’s Train project and announced that the service would soon be opened for the public.
CM Bugti said the Jinnah People’s Train would provide residents of Quetta and surrounding areas with a safe, comfortable and affordable mode of transportation.
He said the service would facilitate students, employees, businesspeople and ordinary citizens in their daily travel.
The chief minister described the Jinnah People’s Train as an important step towards providing modern and dignified transportation facilities to the people.
He said the timely completion of public welfare projects and the delivery of their benefits to citizens had begun, adding that modern transportation facilities would help reduce both travel time and commuting expenses.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the Jinnah People’s Train would significantly improve transportation facilities for residents of Quetta and adjoining areas.
