Balochistan High Court Orders Gas Company to Withdraw Inflated Bills Within a Week; Officials Summoned Again on November 18

Quetta: The **Balochistan High Court** has directed gas authorities to **withdraw excessive gas bills issued for October 2025 within one week** and to reissue **corrected bills** in accordance with the court’s earlier order dated **June 13, 2024**.
A **two-member bench** comprising **Chief Justice Rozi Khan Barrech** and **Justice Sardar Muhammad Helmi** issued the order while hearing a **constitutional petition filed by Advocate Syed Nazir Agha**.
During the proceedings, the petitioner informed the court that the gas company had **violated previous court orders** by issuing **unusually high bills of Rs. 6,000 and above** to consumers. Expressing **strong displeasure**, the court instructed gas officials to **immediately withdraw the inflated bills** and ensure their **rectification before reissuance**.
Advocate Syed Nazir Agha also highlighted the **severe gas load-shedding and low-pressure problems** faced across the province. Taking notice of the issue, **Chief Justice Barrech ordered that gas supply to Balochistan be prioritized** to provide relief to the public.
The court adjourned further hearing of the case until **November 18, 2025**, summoning gas officials again to **report compliance** with the directives.
