Balochistan Is Paying a Heavy Price for Ambushing the Public Mandate and Keeping Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Out of the Political Process: Maulana Abdul Wasay

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan Provincial Amir Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay has said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan is not merely a political party but a strong and vibrant voice of the province’s political struggle, public rights, and democratic resistance, which has in every era fought the case of the rights, resources, and political authority of the people of Balochistan with full force. The result of continuously keeping Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam out of the political process, limiting its public mandate, and erecting obstacles in the path of true public representation is that today the whole of Balochistan is suffering in the form of unrest, political uncertainty, economic stagnation, administrative crisis, and growing deprivations.
He said that any political arrangement formed by ignoring the public mandate cannot be a guarantee of lasting stability; artificial political arrangements are not the solution to the people’s real problems. The poor governance, weak priorities, and ineffective policies of past governments, instead of reducing the province’s problems, made them more serious; the sectors of law and order, education, health, employment, infrastructure, economy, and basic facilities still require the immediate attention of the people.
Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam does politics not for the seat of power but for the rights of the people, the supremacy of the Constitution, democratic continuity, provincial autonomy, and the collective interests of Balochistan. Highlighting the people’s problems from the halls of parliament to the streets, protecting the people’s constitutional right over the province’s resources, and waging an effective political struggle for the elimination of deprivations are a fundamental part of JUI’s manifesto.
He said that on the call of JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, public gatherings and political activities across the country have once again proven that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam possesses an organized public force and a strong political organization, while full participation in public assemblies is an expression of the fact that the political voice of the people of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cannot be silenced through any artificial arrangement.
He said that ambushing the political mandate, attempting to render public opinion ineffective, and political engineering are tantamount to weakening the democratic process; respect for the people’s vote and mandate is the foundation of political stability. Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay said that every worker of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam should remain fully prepared for the JUI chief’s future course of action. The JUI chief has given the honor of initiating the recent political movement to Balochistan; God willing, the people of Balochistan will stand shoulder to shoulder with JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in this struggle for the protection of their constitutional, democratic, and political rights, and instead of suppressing Balochistan’s voice, will take it to the center of decision-making.
