Petrol Pump Owners Say They Are Unaware of Government’s Rs100 Fuel Subsidy Package

ISLAMABAD:Chairman of the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association Humayun Khan has expressed a lack of information about the government’s recently announced fuel relief package, particularly the Rs100 per-litre subsidy on petrol.

Speaking about the initiative, Humayun Khan said petrol pump owners had not been informed about the details of the Rs100 subsidy package.

He warned that the lack of clarity could lead to disputes between customers and petrol pump owners over the implementation of the subsidy.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of the Petrol Pump Owners Association Nauman Butt said the government had announced the subsidy but had not explained how petrol pump owners would be reimbursed for the amount.

The government has announced a **Rs100-per-litre fuel subsidy for motorcycles and vehicles with engines up to 800cc**. The relief programme has already been launched in Islamabad.

Petrol pump owners have called for clear implementation guidelines and a mechanism for reimbursement before the scheme is fully implemented across the country.
