Pakistan Conducted 40,348 Intelligence-Based Operations Nationwide, Says DG ISPR
RAWALPINDI: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has stated that a total of 40,348 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) have been conducted across Pakistan as part of the country’s counterterrorism efforts.
Addressing a press conference, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that 31,000 intelligence-based operations were carried out in Balochistan, while 7,177 were conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He revealed that 819 people have embraced martyrdom in terrorism-related incidents this year, including 303 Pakistan Army personnel and 322 civilians.
The DG ISPR stated that security forces have conducted an average of 194 operations daily and that 28 suicide attacks have occurred during the year. He added that Afghan nationals were involved in the terrorist incidents reported in Tank and Karachi.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry further said that security forces have eliminated an average of 10 terrorists every day, while a total of 2,084 confirmed terrorists have been killed during counterterrorism operations.
He reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and safeguarding national security through sustained intelligence-based operations across the country.
