Federal Government Seeks 23,500 Police Personnel From Provinces for Islamabad Security
ISLAMABAD:The federal government has sought assistance from provincial governments to strengthen security arrangements in Islamabad, requesting a total of 23,500 police personnel from Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.
According to details, the Cabinet Secretary has written letters to the provincial governments of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan, seeking police personnel for deployment in the federal capital.
The Cabinet Division has also issued a notification regarding the availability and deployment of police personnel from the three provinces.
Under the notification, Punjab has been asked to provide 15,000 police personnel, Sindh 8,000, and Balochistan 500 personnel.
The three provincial governments have been directed to ensure the deployment of the requested police personnel in Islamabad by September 20.
The additional force will be deployed as part of security arrangements in the federal capital.
