“Balochistan Is Being Turned Into an Orphaned and No-Go Area”: Rulers in Islamabad Should Come to Their Senses; Instead of Experiments, the People’s Right to Resources Should Be Recognized – Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and MPA Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch has said that against extortion in the name of levy on petroleum products, unrest in Balochistan, terrorism, and the closure of borders and highways, even today only Jamaat-e-Islami is leading public protest across the country. The September 20 long march toward Islamabad is the need of the hour. Officials at all levels of Jamaat-e-Islami should begin full preparations. Balochistan is being turned into an orphaned, desert, and no-go area. The people are suffering from serious problems, including unrest, unemployment, inflation, and the closure of roads and borders, but there has been no reduction in the apathy of the rulers and relevant institutions. Jamaat-e-Islami will continue democratic resistance and struggle at every level against the difficulties, injustice, and oppression faced by the people.
He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of officials by telephone regarding the September 20 long march and other protest activities. The meeting was attended by officials of provincial, district, and sister organizations. In the meeting, consultations and important decisions were made regarding the September 20 long march and preparations for sit-in camps in various districts.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch further said that the situation in Balochistan is far worse than analyses and news reports. The rulers in Islamabad should come to their senses and, instead of mere analyses and experiments, provide the people of Balochistan with peace, constitutional rights, and access to resources. The most basic need of the people of Balochistan is peace, while the first right to the province’s resources belongs to the people of Balochistan; these resources should be spent on their development, education, health, employment, and basic facilities.
He said that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue democratic resistance and struggle for the rights of the people both inside and outside the assembly. The long march, sit-ins, and peaceful democratic protest are our constitutional and democratic right. The people of Balochistan should fully support Jamaat-e-Islami’s struggle for their rights and make the September 20 Islamabad long march successful.
