Banned Group Leaders Brainwash Women for Attacks, Khadija and Safia Claim
QUETTA: Two women, Khadija and Safia, have alleged that commanders of banned militant organisations manipulated and brainwashed them into becoming involved in terrorist activities, including an attack in Nokkundi and preparations for a suicide operation.
Speaking at a press conference in Quetta, the two women expressed remorse over their past actions, apologised to the state and the nation, and said they would have no further association with banned organisations.
Khadija Abdul Khaliq said she had completed a BSc degree from Turbat. She said her husband had also been associated with a banned organisation and died in 2022.
According to Khadija, her brother and one of his friends influenced and allegedly brainwashed her against Pakistan. She claimed that, following a planned arrangement, she became involved in an explosion in Nokkundi.
Expressing regret over her actions, Khadija apologised to the nation and said she would not have any connection with a banned organisation in the future.
She also questioned the leaders of such organisations, asking why they allegedly use other people, particularly young women, for their objectives instead of involving their own children.
The second woman, Safia Pir Muhammad, a resident of Basima, said a female friend had introduced her to a commander of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). She said she subsequently came into contact with four or five more commanders.
Safia alleged that the commanders assigned her the task of driving a vehicle for a suicide attack. She expressed deep regret over her past involvement and announced that she would no longer have any association with banned organisations.
Questioning the groups’ activities, Safia said such organisations should explain why they allegedly turn women into militants and destroy their lives.
Both women appealed to the public to remain vigilant against efforts to manipulate young people and urged others who had been drawn into militant activities to reconsider their association with such organisations.
