Trump Says Iran Likely Involved in Saudi Pipeline Attack
DUBLIN:US President Donald Trump has said that Iran was “probably” involved in the recent attack on a Saudi oil pipeline, adding that the war with Iran would end after the US midterm elections.
According to media reports, Trump said while speaking to journalists that Iran was likely behind the attack on the Saudi pipeline. He described Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as a good friend and expressed confidence that “everything will be fine.”
Trump also said that the Houthis did not want to fight the United States and predicted that oil prices would fall rapidly once the war with Iran came to an end.
The US president also claimed that the war in Gaza had ended, saying that peace was making progress in the territory.
Speaking to the media in Dublin during his visit to Ireland, Trump addressed concerns over the security situation in Saudi Arabia following recent attacks, as well as the ongoing crisis surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
In response to questions about the regional situation, Trump said that the restoration of commercial maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and other concerns in the region would be resolved soon. Asked specifically about the situation, he briefly replied that “everything will be absolutely fine.”
Trump made the remarks after meeting Irish President Catherine Connolly, appearing confident that tensions in the region would ease and that the ongoing crises would eventually be brought under control.
