Newly Elected NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani Stands by Earlier Comments on Trump

New York: Newly elected New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has reaffirmed his earlier statements regarding former President Donald Trump, saying he continues to stand by what he previously said about him.
In a recent interview, when asked if he considers Trump a fascist, Mamdani reiterated that he stands by his past remarks, in which he had also described the former president as an enemy of democracy.
Mamdani added that during his meeting with Trump, they discussed New York City’s issues openly, covering topics ranging from immigration to housing, the economy, and public safety.
He emphasized that he remains committed to policies aimed at keeping the city safe. However, he noted reports from different areas indicating immigration raids and arrests in various neighborhoods.
Zohran Mamdani won the mayoral race by defeating a Republican and Trump-backed independent candidate. He is set to assume office on January 1.
