Trump Says Iran Talks Underway in Islamabad, Claims U.S. Has Already “Won

Washington:U.S. President Donald Trump has said that discussions with Iran are ongoing in Islamabad, adding that it makes no difference to him whether a deal is reached or not.
According to *The Washington Post*, while speaking to media outside the White House, Trump stated that a possible agreement with Iran is not of major importance from his perspective.
“Whether there is a deal or not, it doesn’t matter. We win either way,” he said.
Responding to a question regarding the potential restoration of Iran’s frozen assets, Trump claimed that the United States had already achieved military dominance over Iran. He further alleged that Iranian naval capabilities had been effectively neutralized in previous confrontations.
“We have completely defeated that country. Now we will see what happens,” he said, adding that Iran may or may not agree to a deal, but from the U.S. point of view, “we have already won.”
The U.S. President also acknowledged that “very deep negotiations” were currently underway between Washington and Tehran.
He stated that Vice President JD Vance was engaged in extended discussions in Islamabad.
In addition, Trump warned China against supplying weapons to Iran, saying it would face “serious consequences” if it did so.
