Jinnah House Attack Case: Hammad Azhar Granted 20-Day Physical Remand

LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore has granted a 20-day physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former National Assembly member Hammad Azhar in the Jinnah House attack case.

According to ARY News, police formally declared Hammad Azhar’s arrest and presented him before the Anti-Terrorism Court in connection with the Jinnah House attack case.

During the hearing, police initially requested a 14-day physical remand of the PTI leader.

The investigating officer told the court that Hammad Azhar had been declared a proclaimed offender in the Jinnah House attack case for a considerable period and had now been arrested, making his physical remand necessary for further investigation.

The investigating officer further informed the court that a photogrammetric test of the accused was required and that forensic examination of his social media accounts also had to be conducted.

After hearing the arguments of the investigating officer, the court reserved its decision on the physical remand for a short while.

The court subsequently approved 20 days of physical remand for Hammad Azhar.
