‘It’s Like Magic—Imran Khan’s Name Alone Is Enough’: Fawad Chaudhry Praises PTI’s Sindh Street Movement
ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister and senior politician Fawad Chaudhry has commented on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ongoing street movement in Sindh and the debate over the creation of new provinces, saying that Imran Khan’s popularity continues to make an impact despite his absence from the political scene.
Commenting on the public response to PTI’s street movement in Sindh, Fawad Chaudhry said, “Imran Khan’s name alone is enough. It has been three years since he was jailed; neither has a picture of him appeared nor has he issued any formal statement. Despite all this, his magic continues to dominate. What can one say about the respect and love he enjoys among the people?”
Fawad Chaudhry said Imran Khan supported the creation of smaller provinces and administrative reforms.
Regarding statements by Salman Akram Raja on the issue of new provinces, he said they carried little significance because Imran Khan himself was in favor of creating smaller provinces.

He said relevant political circles should secure the support of both Imran Khan and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for important administrative and constitutional reforms.
Endorsing Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s position, Fawad Chaudhry said political leadership, particularly Pashtun political leadership, should step forward and provide direction instead of avoiding difficult issues.
He said problems could not be resolved through abusive language or irresponsible statements, stressing the need for serious political leadership.
Criticizing the reform and referendum proposals put forward by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Fawad Chaudhry said Naqvi had correctly identified some of the country’s problems, but his proposed solution remained unclear and incomplete.
He said it was still unclear whether Mohsin Naqvi was advocating the creation of new provinces, strengthening local governments or proposing some other formula.
Fawad Chaudhry stressed that the entire process should be carried out transparently and through political consensus.
