Fazlur Rehman Rejects Government Plan to Create 15 Provinces

KHANEWAL:Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has termed the government’s reported decision to create **15 provinces** a mistake, saying the move would further complicate the country’s situation.
Speaking to the media in Khanewal while visiting JUI-F leader Allama Ikram-ul-Qadri to inquire about his health, Fazlur Rehman said the Constitution of Pakistan was being “made a mockery.”
He said **two provinces are already facing unrest**, while the government is talking about creating new provinces. He further claimed that the government had completely lost public confidence.
Fazlur Rehman also criticized the earlier decision to merge the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, calling it a major failure.
The JUI-F chief said his party was holding talks with the **Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)** and **Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)**, adding that the parties would formulate a joint strategy in Parliament.
