Iran Fully Supports China’s Proposal for Regional Joint Security: Qalibaf

TEHRAN:Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has said that Iran fully supports China’s proposal for establishing a framework of **joint security in the region**.

In a statement, Qalibaf said China’s emphasis on adopting a system of collective security reflects the same principle that Iran has advocated for a long time.

He said regional countries should take control of their own future, stressing that genuine stability can only be achieved through a new security structure developed within the region itself. “Iran is ready for this,” he added.

Qalibaf said Tehran has consistently urged regional countries to reduce their reliance on powers outside the region and establish security arrangements through mutual cooperation.

The statement comes after Chinese President **Xi Jinping** called for a four-point strategy to establish a new security framework in the Middle East.

During a meeting with Egyptian President **Abdel Fattah El-Sisi** on Wednesday, Xi emphasized the need to build a security system based on **common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security**.
