Trump Says Strong US Team Sent to Islamabad as Iran Talks Gain Momentum

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has said that a strong American delegation has been sent to Islamabad for key negotiations.

Speaking to reporters, Trump stated that the team includes JD Vance, Jared Kushner, and Steve Witkoff, who are expected to hold important meetings in the Pakistani capital.

He also expressed optimism about regional developments, saying that the strategic Strait of Hormuz would soon be fully open. Trump emphasized that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons remains a key objective, adding that a successful deal would be beneficial.

Meanwhile, a high-level Iranian delegation has already arrived in Islamabad for talks, while U.S. Vice President JD Vance is also reported to have departed for the city to participate in the negotiations.

According to reports, the U.S. delegation for the Islamabad talks will comprise Vice President JD Vance, Special Representative Steve Witkoff, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, signaling the importance Washington attaches to the discussions.
