Main Suspect Arrested in Karachi Defence Assault Case
KARACHI:Police have arrested Malik Ibrahim, the main suspect accused of assaulting a young man in Karachi’s Defence Phase 8.
A viral video showed three young men allegedly beating the victim, prompting police to take action and arrest Malik Ibrahim.
The victim, Ali Jafri, claimed that he had gone to Defence Phase 6 with friends for dinner. He said that when he came out after eating, someone struck him on the head with a stick, causing him to lose consciousness.
According to Jafri, the suspects then put him in a car and took him away, where they allegedly assaulted him while another man stood nearby pointing a pistol at him. He said the suspects repeatedly demanded that he apologize, also asked him for money, and made purchases using funds from his account.
Police said the young man had been involved in a dispute at a gaming zone within the jurisdiction of the Gizri police station. The assault incident reportedly took place on **August 29**.
